What is VCA ?
VCA certification is the Certification of the Health, Safety and Environment management system of contracting companies.
The Safety, Health and Environment Checklist for Contracting Companies is intended for any company whose workers perform services in another company and whose activities have a significant impact on the safety of the principal's site.
The VCA certification provides assurance that the company complies with the requirements imposed by the principal, the nature of the risks induced by its activities, the activities of the principal and other companies on the site.
Application areas
The VCA certification is intended for companies that carry out activities presenting an increased risk in a risky environment (work in factories, installations, workshops and project sites), such as:
- mechanical construction activities
- electrical engineering and process control
- construction work
- bridges and roadways
- other technical services, such as: insulation, construction of scaffolding, industrial cleaning, stripping / conservation, vertical transport
Certification levels
VCA *: deals with the direct management of HSE (Safety, Health and Environment) aspects in the workplace, without resorting to subcontractors.
VCA **: covers the direct management of HSE aspects in the workplace, as well as the HSE structure (a.o. HSE policy, HSE organization and improvement policy).
VCA Petrochemistry : covers the direct management of HSE aspects in the workplace, as well as the HSE structure (including HSE policy, HSE organization and improvement policy) and additional requirements specific to the Petrochemistry sector.

Periodicity
3 years
- Surveillance audits (first within 12 months)
- Renewal audit (must be completed before the certificate expiration date)
Accreditation
This service is provided under BELAC accreditation for the certification of management systems.
Accreditation n ° 651-QMS - scope available on the site www.belac.fgov.be.
