What is Welding Level 1 Pass'Sécurité certification?
The “Pass’Sécurité” welding safety pass skills certificate issued by Apave Certification is part of a voluntary approach and has been created to meet the growing needs of companies in all sectors that wish to certify the skills of their welding staff and increase recognition of their ability to prevent risks.
With certification, you are able to demonstrate the prevention skills of your welders to customers, in particular by:
- Preparing your workstation, taking into account the risks in a welding workshop
- Applying the workplace health and safety rules in a work situation
- Communicating, informing and preventing
As an employer, you
- You ensure the efficiency of your welders, both in terms of welding and ensuring people are kept safe
- Reduce workplace accidents and occupational illnesses by taking into account all workplace risks
- Meet your risk training obligations over an optimised period

Who the Welding Level 1 Pass'Sécurité certification is for ?
An experienced welder seeking one or more welder qualifications - Any person in charge of welding operations: wishing to validate their prevention skills or not having solid prevention qualifications.

Steps and processes
Conduct of the examination
The examination follows on from the training course delivered by Apave. Taking place over a half-day, it consists of a practical test to assess 3 skills with role plays reconstituting the professional environment:
- Preparing one’s workstation taking into account the risks in an arc welding workshop
- Applying workplace safety and health protection in a work situation
- Communicating, informing and preventing
